Samsung Galaxy S24 may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the United States and Canada

Both the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy 24 Ultra variants are expected to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, regardless of global market location.

Samsung appears to be preparing for the big reveal of its newest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, on January 17th. Initial leaks had suggested that the standard Galaxy S24 could sport either an Exynos 2400 SoC or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, based on regional availability. However, a recent leak implies that the base model will feature the Exynos 2400 SoC in all international markets. All devices in the Galaxy S23 series had previously debuted with a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy earlier this year. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in every global market.

Noted leaker WigettaGaming (@WigettaGaming) shared information about the upcoming Galaxy S24’s specs through a promo chart on X (previously known as Twitter). According to this post, all countries except the US and Canada will have their Galaxy S24s powered by the Exynos 2400 chip. In contrast, American and Canadian models will utilize a modified version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC called “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy.”

On the other hand, both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24+ are likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy with overclocked CPU and GPU cores across all markets globally. Every model within the previous generation, the Galaxy S23 lineup, was launched internationally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.

The anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 devices will come with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and have AMOLED LTPO displays that offer variable refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. The Galaxy S24 is expected to boast a 6.2-inch full-HD+ panel, while the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra should have 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch QHD+ panels, respectively. The Ultra model is rumored to house a 200-megapixel quad camera setup, while the standard models might come with 50-megapixel triple camera configurations.

Regarding battery capacity, the lowest-tier Galaxy S24 will likely incorporate a 4,000mAh battery, while the higher-end Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra models could be equipped with 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively.
